The Awareness Is Always There Q: Ihave heard it said many times, "You must be aware all the time." Does this awareness arise of itself?
A: The awareness is always there. Bui because we are compulsively focused on and paying attention only to the past and future, we miss it. When our attention rises up or goes back, we suddenly recognize that we have been aware all the time. Because we were paying attention only to little specks of dirt on the floor we didn't bother to look up and see everything else. It sounds simple, but it's avery complex process that we are constantly involved in. Unless on avery deep level we let go of all of it, it will be impossible to recognize that we are aware —even though we always are. 1 7 0
