Are You Going to Jump or Not?

p. 65

Q: Do you recommend any practices that help bring one to the ultimate goal of Enlightenment? A; The practice of Enlightenment is the end in itself. Alot of practices are supposed to bring you to Enlightenment. Some spiritual practices can bring you to the very edge of the known. But the question is, when you are at the very edge of everything you have ever thought or imagined —what are you going to do? Are you going to jump or not? That is the only relevant question. Many people have had profound spiritual experiences and have come very close; very, very close to the edge. But when they were overcome by atremen¬ dous fear they went back. They withdrew. What are you going to do? Are you going to jump? Are you ready to die? Are you interested? Is that what you want right now? If the answer is no, then you are not interested in Enlightenment. If the answer is yes, then it is going to happen. 6 5 Oil and Water Do Not Mix Sadhana means time. Enlightenment is the destruction of time. Like oil and water, Enlightenment and time do not mix. When you realize that Freedom has no history you will laugh and it will all be over. 6 6
