Introduction

J. he pain of the consequences of my inabihty to compro- mise in simple yet profound matters of the heart has been and continues to be great. What do I mean by matters of the heart? I mean to propose that if Love that frees the human spirit is not founded upon true integrity and consistency in that integrity in a human soul, then its resuU cannot truly liberate. Truth is the revelation and intuitive recognition of the way itself. Love is the emotional experience of profound surrender that is the ecstasy of transcendence. The discov- ery of Truth without Love is empty and the experience of Love without Truth is always superficial. A strange predicament—often condemned for my unwillingness to compromise in these matters of the heart—compels me to share my life with those who are interested in trying to understand the relationship between Love and Truth.
