the rational mind the psychological self the psychological self the individual itself finds it very hard to conceive of the infinite nature of timelessness and formlessness it finds it impossible how can i conceive of timelessness and formlessness unless you experience it you can't conceive of it the infinite nature the eternal nature when someone says eternal nature of timelessness and form you can't imagine it you know it's just what does that mean infinite nature of timelessness or it just sounds like mystical rubbish what does it mean it's hard to conceive when you experience when you have even a little experience of it when you taste the ground of being just a little bit you you even if you taste it just a little bit because its nature is non-relative and absolute because the nature of the ground of being is absolute you only need to experience a little bit of it to experience its absolute nature you don't have to experience a lot of it because its nature is always infinite even if it's just a little bit you awaken to the inf its infinite nature so in the same way the nature of the absolute when it took that leap from nothing to something from form to formlessness from being to be coming when that split happened when that when form when its form changed absolutely from timeless formless being to infinite infinite becoming the infinite nate it's its infinite nature is didn't change remember the ultimate nature of realities is only one that one is in the infinite but when the split happened the there was a being and becoming became polar opposites but the nature of being is infinite the nature of becoming is infinite and that's the whole point that a lot of people don't know that the nature of being is infinite the nature of becoming is also infinite traditionally in traditional mysticism there's different there's different kinds of interpretations but one more common one is the time they say the timeless timelessness and formlessness is infinite and the entire creative process is relative and not infinite you follow so they say the whole idea is you you emerge you know you go through this you go through this process of this creative process and this is what eckhart tolle believes too i had a conversation with them you go through this and you kind of realize like in the traditional eastern metaphysics that this this is just like what am i doing here i'm trapped in a body life is full of suffering and endless disappointments and i want out that's what the buddha realized also so the idea in in most of the traditional enlightenment dharma is that this the war the universe is a place that we've ended up that we ultimately don't want to be here right because it's a place where you experience suffering and fear and hunger and desire right craving all these things uh so often in in the traditional model of enlightenment this is some kind the the being born is seen as some kind of ordeal that you have to go through until you realize that this is an ordeal that you're actually fed up with right and then when you realize that you actually don't really want to be here anymore then you can let go and then you let go of you let go and if then then you then and then that's the process of becoming enlightened in the traditional way you let go of all your desire all your id all your desires and all your attachments all your desires and all your attachments until you until when you die you can let go you let go of all your karmas you can let go of everything and if you can let go deeply enough you never have to come back that's kind of the traditional model but in evolutionary enlightenment we see that very differently because we learned a little bit about cosmic evolution biological evolution cultural evolution and we kind of realized that the evolutionary process itself is really just beginning to get interesting it might be so it's because it's taken the universe about 14 billion years or so to produce conscious to produce sentient life forms with the capacity for complex consciousness like us and so the idea here and this is this is this is the this is a really big revelation that you know that's probably i think it was i think it was julian huxley who who said of the first one who made the phrase i think it was him but i'm not sure who said we are evolution bearing witness to itself awakening to itself knowing itself and the point here is that the entire creative process the entire creative process which has been happening for 14 billion years as far as we know has no only recently produced the capacity for consciousness for interiority that we are in the midst of experiencing that makes it possible for the energy and intelligence that created the universe and is creating the universe to recognize itself to know itself to realize itself to experience itself to become self-aware if we weren't here assuming we're the only life forms in the cosmos that have the capacity for complex consciousness that we do which is probably unlikely but until we find out anything to them until we find them or they find us that's kind of more or less how we have to see it that you kind of realize that if that the the universe is really just beginning to wake up because if we weren't here or if sentient life forms like similar to us or have the capacity for complex consciousness and self-reflectivity in the capacity to bear witness to see all this risk i am all of this and as you see it i am all of this and you and you bear witness to it you bearing witness is the process bearing witness to itself through you the energy and intelligence that created the universe and is creating the universe which i call god is the energy and intelligence that created the universe and is creating the universe god is that and that emerged from timelessness and formlessness right the energy and intelligence that created the universe and creating is creating the universe as one and not two is infinite in nature is infinite in nature right is infinite in nature when you realize that's who you are an evolutionary enlightenment that's enough to be an evolutionarily enlightened person you realize i am not the psychological personality that was born in my case 56 years ago in a secular jewish family in new york city on lexington avenue between 93 and 94th street and had such a such a personal history but i am really that with that one without a second i am the energy and intelligence that created the universe and is creating the universe i'm that one without a second there is only one and not two the ultimate nature of reality the absolute nature of reality is eternal and i am that eternal one without a second that chose to give rise to the entire creative process is me you
