I was just struck with a lot of things but particularly when you're talking about creating a higher standard and and what came out yesterday in terms of how in this particular teaching what we care about is the result that's the approach it's a result oriented it's almost looking from the outside in rather the inside out we're looking at the external manifestation of the internal position not how it feels from the inside if you've been brought up in a in a postmodern context you've been trained to look at everything from the inside out so how does it feel right but so I you can see how radical what I'm the way I'm teaching is for individuals that have been trained to look at everything from the inside out for how does it feel to me right now say no I don't really care how it feels to you what does it look like right does it look good does it look good in the way that we does does how it look is that in alignment with the higher spiritual and philosophical and moral aspirations is it in alignment with the higher moral spiritual philosophical aspirations or is it out of alignment with the higher moral philosophical and SP spiritual aspirations which is a very different way to look at your own experience and and other people than what the way we've been trained so if you're training to look at everything from the inside out you're judging everything by how you happen to feel about about it in any given moment which is very unreliable unpredictable and most of the time doesn't have anything to do with higher principles but when but I'm trying to train people trying to train people to learn how to look at the reality of themselves which is hard but and nevertheless and the reality of each other from the outside in in the context of higher moral philosophical and spiritual ideals and principles I think just just from a philosophical theoretical point of view you all should appreciate how radical and how potentially transforming a teaching a posture and orientation like this is and the potential it has now this is something that that that takes time to learn how to do because it's literally you're training yourself to assume a perspective that for a lot of people most people it's just not it's not those the structures in order to do that aren't don't exist yet so it needs to be learned it's like learning anything else you have to teach yourself how to do it but I just want just from a practical or theoretical perspective I want you to appreciate what a radically different orientation is of looking at the outside in versus from the inside out it'll change the way you see yourself and other people and everything that's happening in a very dramatic way and it also changes the way you're going to relate to your experience the way you're going to relate to positive things the way you're going to relate to negative things the way you're going to relate to challeng ches the way you're going to relate to values and everything else but this needs to be learned what people will do is they'll recognize what's very compelling about what I'm sharing and why it's so important but because maybe they're experiencing a little bit of evolutionary pressure they switch perspectives if you if when you're under evolutionary pressure you switch perspectives and stop looking from the outside in and start looking From the Inside Out you let go of the whole thing you just lo you lose the the whole thing Falls the whole struct the whole house of cards the whole structure crumbles so you need even under personal pressure evolutionary pressure which is positive pressure spiritual press you need to stick to the outside in perspective if you don't if you if if you if if you switch back to how your ego happens to feel and that becomes more valid more true more relevant than anything else the outside in perspective is gone but you can see it just from a cultural perspective because of the way we've been trained most of us to look at everything from the inside out it's looking at the outside in as a as a kind of um as as a natural orientation needs to really be learned and put into practice and then you have to hold to it even Under Pressure because if under pressure we let go of the outside in perspective and start looking at the Inside Out perspective once again giving that greater significance and priority the big View and the big perspective is gone gone gone and then we're back in the world of the personal self once again and there's no evolutionarily enlightened Cosmic aspiration perspective moral and how this relates to what we're doing here is if you just meditate on zero you see all perspectives fall away which is the cool part so if you really meditating on zero all perspectives fall away and the reason is when all perspective Falls away and there's only zero you're creating the space to this Fresh open the Fresh open ground in which you can begin to build this outside in orientation it's very hard to go from inside out to outside in it's possible and you can do it and people can do it and people have done it but it's much easier and emotionally it's much easier to do when you feel the freedom freedom from the out the Inside Out perspective which is your ego's orientation so when you feel that Infinite Space which is revealed when you meditate on zero it will be infinite easier to begin to to assume this outside in perspective and also you're if you meditate on zero for long periods of time you feel less emotionally inclined to just pick up the ego's perspective once again so it gives you more space to create this new orientation which is outside in e
