I have an idea why don't we use this time when we're all so frightening and secure and I'm sure of what's gonna happen next why don't we just step back a little bit and instead see it as a god-given opportunity to go deep take this time that we never planned to have as a god-given opportunity to practice introspection to look very deeply into the ultimate meaning of life and of death and the purpose of existence one of the Buddha's most profound teachings was his teaching on impermanence the law of impermanence tells us that all of manifest existence is in a state of constant change that everything is changing all the time and then nothing is static nothing is predictable if we can face this truth if we can face into it fearlessly courageously unflinchingly open heart and with a very quiet mind maybe we can begin to understand things in a way that's usually very difficult just think about the fact that everything is impermanent and everything's changing all the time everything is changing all the time everything is changing all the time but we don't live we don't live as if we realize that that's true we're living it in a world everywhere as it is shared pretense that nothing is going to change and that everything is predictable and predictable that's not the truth so why don't we try to face the truth and see what happens let's see what lays in store for us on the other side of this potentially very liberating insight thank you
