Andrew Cohen in India: Haiti, Bad Karma or a Random Act of Plate Tectonics

[Music] we have seen the worst of Earth quick in this Century almost three lakh people have lost their lives was it destined I meaning about Haiti yeah Haiti I'm talking about Haiti what about it I mean three people have lost their lives did it happen for a reason you see no the Earth the crust of the earth moved you know the crust of the earth it just moved there was no there because the point is if you think it happened for a reason then you say that you know the mythical god they say you know there's somebody up there so in the Christian God there's only one Christian God in Hindu in Hinduism you have many gods but that means there's somebody up there looking like her or looking like you or looking like me who's ruling down and making these decisions that is oldfashioned thinking that's mythical thinking that's the re you guys said you're not interested in religion but if you believe there's somebody up there then you're preaching the same religion that your grandparents believed in there's nobody up there how should we look at this kind of but you understand what I mean so then when the earthquake happened the Earth you know there's a tear in the fabric of the Earth's crust like this and then those poor people in Haiti who are already poor suffer this terrible disaster but it doesn't mean anything there's no there's no karmic reason that they were going to die but you see for example if there's a hurricane and then you know that somebody's houses gets gets blown away that's just nature it doesn't mean just nature you mean to say that's just nature I mean you have nothing to do with it with learning and all that that it happened for a reason but whose reason yeah how do you look at it no no but who but I'm asking you whose reason exactly who would to say now I'm going to destroy Haiti why there's no reason to but but I need to ask you how should we look at it if something wrong you look at this it's it's this is the crust of the earth moved okay there's a re for that like let's say tomorrow you say Andrew I want to take you to the Jungle I want to show you the beautiful jungle cuz in India it's it's decreasing because there's so many people let's go before the before the forest is gone let's go and we go and then a lion comes and eats me it's that does it mean anything you are touching the core of my heart because you know this is what I have been told this is what I have been taught by I mean everything happened for happens for a reason this is what I have heard I understand but this is can I be honest when I say with respect it's called New Age thinking this is New Age religion everything happens for a reason what reason you understand what I'm saying it's like dog you know Dogma you know how do you say Dogma could s so that's new age Dogma New Age Dogma everything happens for a reason so you see what it means you know what ego is you know ego ego means I'm looking at every me me me me me so if you say everything happens for a reason so then you know I come she looks at me I meet you say all it means then it just it's a very big it creates this ego centered perspective on everything is happening for a reason oh the people crossed the street the woman looked at me the man turned his head they looked at me it's all happening for reason it means I'm the center of the whole universe it creates a kind of narcissistic drama I on my belief so that to me that's part of New Age Dogma I don't believe [Music] it [Music] fore
