The True Significance of Intersubjective Nonduality

hello everybody nice to see you all welcome so my favorite subject inter subjective non-duality returning back to discuss this again it's a very difficult subject very important one difficult to understand not so easy to experience and still very mysterious so inter subjective non-duality is talking about the possibility the experiential [Music] possibility of experiencing a new metaphysical potential the evolution of higher Consciousness for our species and in this case it's the experience of enlightened awareness spiritual enlightenment the conscious cognizance of non-duality as a shared experience that's what's unique about it historically generally when an experience of non-duality of higher Consciousness or ego Transcendence occurred this what occur within the private inner subjective sanctum of the unique individual the experience of enlightened awareness was a personal thing it was it was A Private Matter it was not a shared experience most of the time what we what we when we read about it when we hear great spiritual realizers talk about their experience they're usually talking about an experience that is unique personal and private and occurring within their own subjective domain so the significance the potential of inter subjective non Duality is that now because of the emergence of this new metaphysical potential it has become possible you know how to do it right and are successful to share to share the higher state of consciousness with other people you can have a shared experience of shared experience of a higher state of enlightened awareness share the experience of transcendental knowledge and wisdom and Bliss and Liberation with other people becomes the shared ground in which we meet each other and this is what is so profound remarkable and really very new about it until until this uh kind of experience dramatically emerg within my own student body about 25 years ago I'd never heard of such a thing so this kind of this the emergence of this Weis spay so this emergence of this potential to share the state of enlightment with other people is very exciting because it makes it possible to meet each other in a higher state of consciousness beyond the separate ego and that that that gives us that opens up all kinds of possibilities for human relationship and human relatedness to evolved in dramatic and miraculous new ways I think the potential in inherent in this newly emerging metaphysical phenomenon are barely known at this point but this is the point I wanted to make at the beginning it's just to speak about very simp simply is that it's possible it's possible in this in this higher state of consciousness to share the state of Illumination and if I'm experiencing a state of Illumination and I'm telling you about it that's one thing but if we're sharing the state of Illumination and speaking to each other from that state we're we're we're we're entering into a different world space together a different shared World space that has all kinds of developmental potentials inherent in it that simply don't exist when the ego is dominant this is what's very exciting but what I want you all what I want you to understand is that I'm speaking about a shared state of Enlightenment that's the bottom line that's what it is and when you experience a shared state of Enlightenment with other people you to a different world the fundamental state of separation and inherent Duality is temporarily transcended and so one experiences a radical state of Awakened vibrating intimacy liberated intimacy but in this case it's not the it's not the intimacy of a of an ego that's being vulnerable a personal self that's being open and honest and undefended it's the intimacy of the absolute because the Awakening to that which is non-relative and absolute which is the state of enlightened awareness is the most profoundly intimate experience you can have and if you can share that non-relative or absolute knowing of of being with another human being the experience you have of shared Intimacy in that that absolute Oneness is exhilarating beyond measure it's exhilarating it's exciting it is thrilling and also full of potential so that's what this is really all about and um what also happens in this in this in this new shared state of enlightened awareness or higher consciousness is that the proverbial Oneness that everybody speaks about that is inherent in enlightened awareness becomes the palpable ground of one shared experience so in other words if I'm sharing the state of nonduality or not tuness or Oneness with you and you're sharing the state of non-duality or Oneness with me the ground of the very ground of our shared experience becomes the mutual recognition of a nondo presence Nono feeling a nonu knowing and the nonu feeling and the nonu knowing and non ground becomes a very Foundation of our interaction of our engagement of our relatedness which as I've been saying literally changes everything and u another facet of this experience is the is the miraculous metaphysical sense in this higher state that there is that we are we all are one being we appear to be unique separate individuals but we really in fact are a one being having a conversation with itself and whereas this kind of metaphysical understanding is known to many people at an intellectual level in this shared state of higher Consciousness this fact of of of us all being one being is felt at a very deep level is felt as a feeling as a knowing as a vibration of non-duality in other words it's not it's not an intellectual recognition it's a existential recognition of kind of absolute truth and the rational mind has has a very difficult time with this kind of thing because if I'm sitting here and you're sitting there doesn't make sense that we are not separate that we're one being but in this higher state it becomes palpable or tangible or obvious that there is ultimately only one being and I am and you are that one being having a conversation with itself through these different forms these different bodies minds and personalities and when this is when this kind of thing is not it's not just intellectual understanding it's not just cognitive but is actually existential the world changes and the field we we share begins to become lit up with as I keep saying infinite potential so um inherent in this higher state of inter subjective non-duality is the promise of paradise because of most of our problems that cause conflict between us between human beings stem from some conviction that we are not part of the same family we're not part of the same tribe not part of the same reality that you're separate from me and I'm separate from you and we find ourselves in some kind of human beings find themselves and gross and subtle levels in some states of competition and War and this is been part of our historical experience since we became human beings so when we awaken to this nond ground we Glimpse the beginning of a possibility of the end of the end of division the end of war the end of competition the end of division the possibility of true Paradise or true Utopia reveals itself um what makes this leap so unique and so distinct and what I want everybody to understand but to understand we have to appreciate a distinction I'm fond of making when I teach in order to help people understand what enlightenment is all about I learned about this distinction from Tibetan Buddhism and it's a distinction it's it's a distinction between relative reality and absolute reality so in in Buddhism make this there's a Doctrine it's called the two truth Doctrine which says there two truths there's his relative reality and his absolute reality it's something to take into consideration and when you start experimenting with higher States Of Consciousness you can start experiencing the truth of this that there is there is the relative reality of the world of time and space and beginnings and endings the world of the small self the separate self the story of The Narrative of the small self and the limitations of being trapped in a body and a mind in time and space this is all part of what's relatively real it's the the drama of the life of the ego the small self is all happening in this relatively real State of Consciousness this very relatively real domain of reality but when you awaken to the non-relative or absolute dimension of reality you you see through the illusion of this relative perspective and awaken to what's called an absolute perspective and you recognize in this higher state a non-relative or absolute ground for reality itself and this real this ground is infinite and eternal and indestructible and unchanging and touched by anything that ever happens in relative reality and this this absolute context contextualizes that newly contextualizes your understanding of relative reality now you see relative reality from the perspective of absolute reality that changes everything and the state of what's traditionally been called the state of Enlightenment or the state of spiritual Liberation spiritual emancipation has been the the has been the Awakening through this state of absolute context from this absolute context suddenly all things are relative are seen from the perspective of that which is absolute which means you see every you see relative reality now in in in context and this is what's so utterly and completely liberating so profoundly liberating in absolute reality you're seeing that which is absolutely real with relative reality you're seeing that which is relatively real when you're in a state of unenlightenment you perceive everything that is relatively real as being absolutely real that's what's called ignorance that's why we suffer because we believe unknowingly that which is absolutely real is actually relative that which is relatively real is absolutely real but when we awake into that which is absolutely real we suddenly see the truth that that that which is relatively real is only relatively real and only that which is absolutely real is real it's absolutely real sorry so the state of this absolute context to repeat is the state of Liberation and emancipation and Enlightenment and when we see relative relative reality from the the perspective of that which is absolutely real it's we're seeing things from in their true light I was blind and then I could suddenly see that means I I went I I took the I flipped from relative reality to Absolute reality I was dreaming and I woke up I was lost in that relative reality and I woke up to Absolute reality it's it's it's the source of Liberation it's a s of emancipation so when you are when we speak about the whole nature of human relationship human relatedness and two or more human beings have have the same wake up experience I'm describing and both flip from a a perspective of of reality that's relative to when it's absolute everything shifts everything changes the way we see each other the way we relate to each other the way we understand each other changes completely changes everything absolutely everything and the other thing about inter subjective nonduality is that it's if you know how to practice it if you know how to enter the state with other people it's fairly easy to to to get into the state and it offers um what traditionally could be called unenlightened people an experience of Enlightenment doesn't take long it's kind of very miraculous can happen in a few minutes if you if you have a good guide or if you good guides they can show you how to do this and this flip can happen in a matter of minutes it's quite it's quite miraculous so one of the great benefits of it is that supposedly supposedly unenlightened people can have an experience of Enlightenment quite easily and quite quickly through this theological process or through this methodology so the way this happens is that we we come together in a collective setting we become and we we do make it we decide to become more interested in what we don't already know and what we do already know we want to clean out the Mind space want to clean out the Mind space and make room for what we don't already know so we we we we decide we want to go on a journey together we want to go go on a metaphysical journey together beyond the mind which is like the Art and Science of meditation is all about going on a journey beyond the mind now we want to go on a journey beyond the Mind together so now we want to travel beyond the Mind together not just me sitting by myself in a room somewhere but we want to go beyond the line together so we learn how to focus more on listening to the silence not to the movement of the mind but to the mystery of Silence try to listen for this mystery that lives in in the silence focus on the mystery the legion the silence and not focus on how our ego feels or what our ego wants but we try to let go of our small self focus on the silence and then if everybody is practicing with diligence and sincerity and commitment the urge to express oneself will begin to come the urge to express oneself will begin to come and if this is being practiced at the highest level which it rarely is but if it's practiced at the highest level one begins to find that the words the ideas the thoughts the sentiments are coming from a much deeper place a much deeper space a much deeper Source within oneself much deeper source that one may have not been cognizant ever cognizant of or ever aware of the deepest source of Consciousness in a metaphysical context is the mind of the Buddha or we could metaphorically call the mind of the Buddha the mind of the guru the mind of the realizer truly realized individuals have access to a metaphysical source and this Source exists beyond the mind and when an individual speaks from this Source miraculously mysteriously wisdom starts flowing from this miraculous source and it's not a wisdom that has been cultivated over time it's a wisdom it's a wisdom that seems to come from a a bank of infinite wisdom that's not that's not learned in any particular lifetime it seems to exist there eternally is some magical metaphysical Storehouse of absolute knowledge so this is why truly enlightened men and women people who are truly stabilized in enlightened awareness possess within them and around them some kind of magical mysterious quality because they know that they are somehow they have access to this mysterious metaphysical source of wisdom and knowledge does that comes from Beyond the mind so this mysterious miraculous metaphysical source of wisdom becomes available to people who are sitting together who open themselves to it and when this process begins to really work begins to really flow the this Source this this metaphysical Source begins to speak through the individuals are sitting together to speak in mythical language to put this in a Mythic context this this this this metaphysical Source or this absolute Source when this is really flowing begins to have a conversation with itself and when this is really working at a very high level I'm speaking about very rarely the ego the ego the ego just the egos are nowhere to be found they temporarily take a vacation and everybody present becomes awakens to Enlighten awareness it becomes God realized and this the source Consciousness begins to speak to itself through these individuals so one finds one having a conversation about miraculous metaphysical philosophical issues profound issues that one had never even thought about before people become philosophers and spiritual gurus temporarily because this this Source Comes Alive between it between between every everybody who's gathered and the source begins to have a conversation with itself and I wonder if such a thing has ever happened before that this that this deep metaphysical source of Enlightenment that exists and this is what is so extraordinary about Enlightenment is when you wake to enlightened awareness you realize that universe is pregnant with knowledge and wisdom if you if you if you know the spiritual technology have how to unleash it and how to find access to it there's so much that is already present there's so much awakened spiritual intelligence inherent in the universe that's why Spiritual Awakening is so important so we can gain access to it but nevertheless in these in this inter in the P practice and process of inter subjective non-duality when the process works at its highest level which it rarely does but when it does the universe The Awakening intelligence of the source of the universe or what seems to be the source of the universe begins to have a conversation with itself and when this kind of when this conversation happens this kind of conversation happens to repeat all the separate egos are gone temporarily and every everybody is in a different dimension of reality where the source of the spiritual intelligence starts talking to itself through us and this this this this for this to happen everybody inherently has experienced the flow of Ecstasy but that's not the most important part of it most important part of it is that is that from an evolutionary point of view and remember my teachings about the evolution of Enlightenment that's why it's called evolutionary Enlightenment it seems that the universe is evolving at a not only at a material Level but also at a level of deep interiority subjectivity or Consciousness and it seems as the energy and intelligence that created the universe has created in the universe seems to miraculously intriguingly wants to understand itself and wants to understand reality also the process that gave rise to the universe it's giving rise to it does not exist outside of it so this kind of inter subjective dialogical unfolding it's kind of inter dialogical process is an inherent part of what becomes possible at the deepest levels of reality itself if we are fit enough to die as deep as I'm to as deep a place as I'm describing so this is one aspect of what makes this the potential of this inter subjective nality so exciting is that uh becomes possible for so supposedly unenlightened people to get a glimpse of Enlightenment to experience Enlighten awareness to awaken to enlight [Music] awareness it becomes possible to awaken to the truth of non-duality which says there there's only one and not two and now of course in this higher state the reality of the fact it's there's only one and not two becomes palpable and tangible that's not intellectual understanding but it becomes a felt tcid reality that's being shared I am in you you are that one intelligence that's Awakening to itself through us which changes the context meaning and purpose of human relatedness obviously changes the whole dynamic of what's usually a separate felt sense of existence and and finally um there is a there's a deep there's a deep creativity the source of this of the of this of existence the source of the universe there there's a a deep creative process the source of all this and it's one thing to understand intellectually that evolution is a creative process but it's another thing to to experience it to to to see it as as a living vibration within one's very soul and to begin to participate in that creative process is the very deepest dimensions of reality as we experience it together and of course what's so what's so exciting about this is you realize that nothing is fixed nothing is fixed and nothing is forever predestined that reality itself can be at least to some degree affected in dramatic and important ways by the actions we take and the choices that we make and we is something we begin to see and understand from a very deep level of our own inner experience in this the kind of high States I'm describing so in these higher States it's kind of a big wakeup call for the the the big big spiritual questions who am I and why am I here when you start to realize that unless if you're if you're as sleep walking through life you're wasting the opportunity to participate in the creative process in a way that actually has meaning and purpose not only for you but for everyone else so this kind of experience affords us the opportunity to wake up to this to to the truth of ER so this creative Dynamo and dynamism that's that's vibrating at the core of the evolutionary process and not not just to Bear witness to it but to but but to be able to actually participate in it and through that participation have an effect have a kic effect on the direction that the interior the universe is going in I know that sounds rather dramatic but it actually is dramatic and I believe this to be the case but you'll only believe it for yourself if you have the kind of experience that I'm describing to you because if you do you realize it's actually true and you realize that we're all here to participate in this process in ways we never even dreamed or imagined were possible so as We Gather in these small collectives give rise to this miraculous awake Collective Awakening state in process the way we get there is not only through the process of listening but it's also to through consciously choosing to renounce the mind's infatuation with relative reality which for most of us means what I call the personal sphere of the personal dimension of the ego's existence ego the ego individual Collective ego it's a shared World space and in order to awaken to the kind of depth I'm speaking about that world space has to be transcended radically dramatically and deeply in order to gain access to everything that I'm describing so it means that the personal sphere personal narrative where the ego lives all the time has to be transcended radically absolutely and ultimately completely at least temporarily though it's a leap beyond the personal which Enlightenment whether it's subjective Enlightenment or inter subjective Enlightenment in order to awaken to enlighted awareness the personal sphere has to be transcended radically now absolutely and so in this extraordinary state that state that we that we awaken to we find that we're existing seeing and knowing beyond the personal knowing reality beyond the personal experiencing reality beyond the personal and the most exciting and evolutionarily potent way participating in reality from Beyond the personal motivations and that's very very very important and very exciting to learn to what it means to participate in reality Beyond personal motivation when you speak to people about transcending personal motivation to a higher motivation that's not personal most people have no idea what that could possibly mean but it means the most beautiful things are possible from us from you and me in between us so and also we begin to find in these higher states that I'm describing that most of the pain and suffering we experience the torment of what the torment what calls the pain body all come from this INF infatuation with the personal sphere of our experience the personal sphere of our existence and so at a certain point in our journey we we will get to the point in this lifetime or lifetime I don't know how long it's going to take when we realize that to to as as has been traditionally said to achieve deep en lasting happiness deep in Eternal happiness this personal sphere has to be transcended in some kind of final and absolute way at a certain point and for a lot of us most of us who have grown up in a modern postmodern context with no access to the these kind of metaphysical domains I'm speaking about and in which the world of the ego is all we know what considering what it would mean to transcend the ego in such a profound way something that's just beyond our imaginations Beyond conception we don't even know how to relate to but the more the small self and its whole narrative the world in world that it creates its whole narrative is transcended the more happiness we experience and it's not we don't experience happiness in that Dimension because we have worked out our problems it's because we transcended them when you transcend identification with what may be very real problems they stop hurting so much stop hurting at all and so up until now this is the kind of uh World space that some people who do this kind of practice engagement kind of practice are tasting or are working with but um there's another step to be taken which I wanted to speak about on this call which is this issue of transcending the small self so there's another step to be taken which we people have taken so far which is that which has to do with the evolution of our Humanity with the question what does it mean to be fully human and I'm quite convinced that the next step in this kind of process I'm describing is the is learning how to re-embrace the totality of our relative selves but from from but from the highest part of ourselves from the part of ourselves that's already liberated so now now what I'm advocating is that the ego after it's been transcended to a significant degree can be re-embraced but only after it's been let go of only after it's been let go of only after it's been let go of only after it's been let go of and just to be clear only after it's been let go of most people don't want to let go so what I'm talking about is very serious but if the ego has actually been let go of at a very at the deepest level of your being which rarely happens but if they if that would happen if it could happen you have the spiritual courage to let go then it would become possible for for us to re-embrace the reality of our relative cell and small cell from the perspective of our true selves or absolute selves or authentic selves and have a very different relationship with our small selves which is remember the small self is the vehicle your body mind and frontal personality is the vehicle which Consciousness is consciousness appears or appears to be carried through the vehicle of the body mind and frontal self of personality so the frontal self is not is not our enemy just becomes problematic if we think that that's who we really are but when you realize it's not who you really are the whole picture changes and I know what I'm saying is obvious to a lot of you many you already know this but it's this it's this false belief or false understanding that the frontal self is who I am it's not who I am so I appear to be to my unenlightened mind so we appear to be to each other from our our unenlightenment to relative Consciousness and cognition but when we wake up we realize that the frontal self is just a vehicle like the body is a vehicle for the soul the frontal self is is is a vehicle for Consciousness and finally I think for for very for very postmodern post postmodern very metamodern question it's very important I think is what's the most what would be the most ideal or perfect relationship to the small self or to the frontal self what would be the most rational relationship to our frontal self to our personas we be we be Rel that was discovered when we had let go of our conscious unconscious attachment to it let go of our conscious and unconscious attachment to our traumas deeply embedded traumas to all the places and the places which we're deeply unfree and finally as we're able to let go of all that we could find a very different kind of relationship to being to to to being who we are as embodied human beings things how about delightfully evenhanded delightfully integrated delightfully is discovered how to be emotionally rational good luck what if we could be emotionally rational with ourselves and also with each other which means that the Transcendence with which it seems to be such a big leap for most people is not the end but as the great Ken will keeps keeps repeating when we learned how to include all the aspects of our s in our as we reemerge from our Awakening we find that we're much more now we're balanced we're rational and we are in control of our of ourselves and we we've let go of our unconscious attachments and it becomes possible to be more fully human than we've everever have been more possible become more fully human even than someone who's is just a transcender because now we're transcending and including but as we as we include we don't we don't get closer to our personal feelings we integrate them but we're no longer so identified with them I'm speaking about something I think is pretty rare to to become emotionally rational with all aspects of our being so this inter subjective NE nality these kinds of experiences teach us how to transcend the small self and meet each other in undifferentiated Oneness and experience the Ecstasy of just subjective non-duality or deep metaphysical intimacy and I believe shows us how we can meet each other in a kind of dignity and nobility and Liberation that is unrestricted and unabashed and outrageous and passionate and totally liberating and from that place of total Liberation that's unabashed and uncompromising you want to also learn how to embrace re-embrace the the totality of our frontal self without being embedded in all the places it fixations anymore so this kind of practice can teach us ultimately how to be more fully human can teach us how to be more fully human it can reveal to us what being more fully human would actually look like and feel like and act like and walk like and talk like if we can do this practice deeply and profoundly with commitment over a long period of time with the goal being truly liberated personal and Collective Consciousness all bets are off in terms of what's possible I mean the challenge is bring back the challenge in all this metaphysical potential is how to bring it all back home how we bring it all back home has to do with how can this help me become more fully human more fully beautifully human because we can be so tragically and painfully inhuman with ourselves the way we treat ourselves and the way we treat each other how can we learn how to be fully human how can we bring it all back home in that sense now the the as I as I said earlier the promise of subjective nonduality is is the promise of is the same promise of enl is the promise of Enlightenment the promise is peace which is the end of conflict number one it means between us the promise is the end of conflict which means the experience of Peace the presence of peace between us which is the end of conflict which is a very tall order ladies and gentlemen there's nothing new about this idea of of the end of conflict being the goal of all spiritual Endeavors but uh it's rarely attained it's rarely attained it's rarely attained it's very tragic it's rarely attained so the promise is peace which is the end of conflict and the promise is equally the possibility of of a shared and liberated co-creative open-ended emergence that's what the gift is that's the gift or the the great gift to be re received by all of us at the end of this journey is peace which means the end of conflict between ourselves and between each other which is a revolutionary idea so not a new idea by any stretch of the imagination but it's a revolutionary possibility even now and simultaneously the possibility of a liberated egoless co-creative engagement with each other with life and to me that's what what does in Nirvana look like what do heaven on Earth looks like it looks like peace on one hand and liberated creativity on the other liberated inter subjective experience of peace that peace that passes all understanding CH the end of conflict between us the end of conflict between us the end of conflict between us the end of conflict between us and the emergence of the actual experience of liberated eess ecstatic co-creative emergent engagement with each other that's about as good as it gets as far as I can see at this point that's what heaven looks like that's what Nirvana that's what evolutionary Nirvana is all about Nana has also been upgraded I don't know if you guys are aware of it Nirvana used to be a static zone now we realize there's some other rooms in Nirvana and some of these other rooms are full of emergent ecstatic Co creative [Music] evolutionary creative activity that's what heaven looks like peace between ourselves and each other which means the end of conflict and eess co-creative emergent activity it's constant constantly flowing new new new possibilities and new patterns new potentials would be bubbling up between us and through us because we were trusting each other and working together in miraculous new ways that become possible and the ego takes a Vaca takes a permanent vacation this is what nurana looks like in my opinion I don't think it can actually get any better than that and I believe this and I and I believe that this this big step forward this discovery this Emer this discovery of the emergence of in subjective not nality or this temporary experience of shared Enlightenment provides us with an onramp or an opening to these kind of new Potentials in human consciousness and that's why some kind of shared practice that's bringing us towards this it's trying to unlock this nervonic potential has to be part and parcel of any kind of spiritual practice at this time in the 21st century because Enlightenment just for me on its own disconnected from everyone else and from the whole world process just doesn't make any sense anymore that's an old outdated model it's tired makes no sense anymore I and we on an individual level still need to all do all the work we need to do to liberate ourselves on a personal level I can be responsible for my relationship with my own mind and emotions you can't be responsible for my mind and emotions and I can't be responsible for your mind and emotions only I can do that so so we all have to personally take responsibility for the insanity of our egos and the all the reverberations of our unresolved traumas and issues we on a personal level have to take responsibility for all that and work our on our personal Liberation like the Buddha said work out your salvation with diligence so we all have to remain busy working on our own salvation with diligence as part of this larger Collective process a larger Collective process and the collective process the collective project can only be done be done together with each other which is an enormous challenge but it's but it's a challenge worth taking because what else is there to do you have any better ideas anything more important to do with your life I don't and also the power in terms of these higher Collective states that I was speaking about at the beginning of my talk tonight in the end the stronger individ the stronger and more authentically awakened or realized or stabilized individuals the stronger individuals are are going to be the ones who can carry the this process with more carry more more of the way this process on their own shoulders because these individuals are more personally enlightened they're more personally grounded in their own sense of responsibility for this Collective Awakening so Collective Awakening is not just going to is not going to just descend upon us all magically and liberate us all magically from on high it's an old it's an old Mythic and magical idea which has no it's not just not true we all have to do this individually and together here on Earth the hard way but then then then when what I'm describing becomes real and tangible and actually attainable but it's really what I'm just trying to describe to all of you is big and absolute and all-encompassing and dramatic and it's very much as the as the is revealing itself to be kind of a the next step in the in the I believe it's the next step in the emerging manifestation of the religious the religious impulse because remember the religious impulse is a collective impulse and then becomes about all of us and when my and when my search for my Enlightenment becomes embedded in a much larger religious impulse that that includes all of us that my personal spiritual practice and progress is never only about me but it's always about all of us and the more we can realize that remember that and never forget that the more enlightened we're going to make sure we remain and we become because we realize we're doing this for each other in the end and if you realize you're doing it for everyone else you'll find a source of dignity that will help you to help to liberate you from all of your small mindedness and nrow ways of thinking so then almost finish just just to repeat that the goal here is peace between me and myself between me and between all of us which just means the end of conflict which means the end of conflict which means the end of conflict which means the end of conflict and unimaginably ecstatic co-creative emerging engagement with with each other so that our religiously inspired relationships and relatedness become the become the sources of unimaginably positive creative unfolding at the interior dimensions of the universe it's a fully engaged human life so I'll be happy to take some questions if anybody has any otherwise we can sit quiet it for a few minutes too that's okay I actually already have a few questions here Andre Okay so the first one is from Simon and he is saying I'm curious about bringing this home the integration and embodiment of these states into the small ego does this involve mainly healing and recontextualizing the small ego to this higher state can one walk with this higher presence in everyday life what steps are those for embodiment well in the way that I approach this see I'm very I'm very typical is that a lot of uh realizers believe that the only solution to the human predicament is liberation said nothing less than Liberation is is the solution to the human predicament and I fall into that category so I believe that the way to solve our personal problems is the is found through letting go of our attachment to them not through working them out and so therefore through letting go of our conscious and unconscious attachment to our personal problems and especially to this deep identification with our personal story when we think about it we can discover space space and freedom of What's called the the the true self or what I call the authentic self and my true self and my authentic self has never been hurt wounded or traumatized by any experience that ever happened in time is always already free and when I when you or I awaken to the true self awaken to what I call the authentic self you experience the truth of the fact that at a much deeper level because the true self the authentic self ex are are absolutely real the pains and the pain and suffering of the small self the ego is relatively real so when you awaken to that dimension of yourself that's absolutely real not relatively real that part of yourself which is relatively real is suddenly seen and recognized to be only that this is only relatively real which means it doesn't matter anymore which means it doesn't matter anymore which means oh my goodness it doesn't matter anymore I don't have to do anything about this I don't have to fix it I don't even have to fix it I don't even have to heal I just have to let go of it let go of my compulsive identification and attachment to it and with it and then it's not such a problem because I real I have realized and I realize and I see and I recognize and I know that it's not absolutely real it's only relatively real so if I can become awaken enlightened which means grounded in that which is absolutely real then I will learn how to see that which is relatively real from the from the perspective of that which is absolutely real and that is my that is my my therapy that's my Enlightenment therapy that's what's that's what frees me from my unbearable pain unbearable grief unbearable resentment unbearable rage and at that point we become that point if we if we at the same time can um fully embrace the relative reality of the small self and the frontal self without rejecting it but compassionately not from the perspective of this absolute self self absolute the authentic self the true self of the authentic self I'm not denying anything about the ego story I'm just not identified with it anymore so identified with it and this make this gives me the capacity to be a different kind of human being someone who's fully human and fully Embraces the totality of the human human pred predicament and human experience without denying anything they're no longer trapped or embedded in it or lost or imprisoned in it like most of us are and we can have compassion for for ourselves and for each others for each other in a whole new way what was it what did that answer the question was the second part of the question yeah that answers the question thanks thank you the next question is from Max he says so interesting that it seems to re it seems to realize absolute reality we need to have ego which is part of relative reality so many so many life forms cannot transcend small self because they have no it seems the only way there is only one trick which is to develop strong and responsible ego and then to go beyond it sounds like a plan I'll meet you there sounds like a good plan then the next question is from Barry where is individual relational and Collective or societal Evolution meant to go or achieve is there any particular purpose goal of human evolution well in in my imperfect understanding I think that the goal is exactly what I was describing which is peace which means the end of conflict which is quite a bit is which is which is quite a uh quite a profound attainment peace which is end of conflict and the capacity for a for a Kind of Perfect engagement with each other was kind of perfect give and take a perfect level of mutual respect and perfect give and take and a shared engagement in a co-creative process that would give rise to newly emerging potentials emerging Potentials in the universe to me that's it that's the goal how can we come together compelled by The evolutionary impulse to give rise to to a greater and more perfect reality but if all of our engagement with each other were're we're co-creative and loving but co-creative means that they they if our if our engagement with each other being co-creative means that our relationships would inherently create a a higher potential that wouldn't be possible without both both of us being involved so in this in this uh co-creative process we need to work together we need to work together in this creative engagement but it would only have meaning if this kind of creative engagement gave rise to something that never existed before gave rise to something higher than merely me or merely you but if our coming together in this kind of process gave rise something higher than me and higher than you greater than me greater than you more complex than me more complex than you that would it's like giving birth in this sense it wouldn't be not in a physical sense but in a in in in a metaphysical sense or other sense the our our relatedness would be inherently creative consciously engaging in our relatedness would be inherently super creative and in this kind of experience the act of co-creativity would be an ecstatic Endeavor and deeply creative people experience that kind of ecstasy when they're creatively engaged but if we're co-creatively engaged it's even more ecstasy involved in that especially if the co-create co-creative engagement gives rise to emerging potentials that never existed before that would not have existed unless we came together to work for something higher greater than ourselves alone so perfect peace on one hand which mean which would mean the end of conflict and this perfect activity of interrelatedness on the other to me is what the point is what the goal is I can't think of I think I can't think a more perfect goal than that now the question is why is there any goal at all I can't answer that question but there seems to be it seems to be and if we recognize that there is and there always has been we'll also we'll also recognize at the same time that this goal whatever it is that we're speaking about this goal or this person purpose when we become when we become engaged with it and activated by it awakens in our souls not in our egos a great sense of meaningfulness and purposefulness the meaningfulness and the purposefulness inherent in existence itself so there's no longer any kind of this destroys nihilism and cynicism absolutely and then we become fully committed players in the game of life which is important I think can I move on to the next question yep it's coming from Rodney and he is asking how do you see the practice of com meditation as an approach to inter subjective Oneness I sense that I have experienced this with a teaching from one of your students Craig Hamilton well I think it's all going in the right direction what Craig calls com meditation is definitely part of the same understanding part of the same unfolding part of the same process so I'm all for I'm all forward thank you but but to remember the uh what's your name again I'm sorry Rodney remember remember Rodney that the meditation is just half of the picture because the that's the more of the passive engagement with Evolution and the inter subjective is the active and ideally we want we want to do both and the better we get at the meditative part the better we're going to we're going to get at the Active engagement part they work together very beautiful exactly exactly right as long as we see them in Tandem and we'll see in the big evolutionary context in the way that's beautiful so thank you thank you the next question is from Grim it is not difficult to understand that which me which merely by our own recognition of what is true we can awaken that same recognition in others but what is maybe harder to see is that through the Awakening of those seeming others is our own Awakening extended do you agree that Awakening is therefore not a static condition assumed by many but a dynamic inclusiveness that is not complete until it encompasses all beings if no trace of limitation can exist in the awareness of the one who is completely liberated can it be said that this tot freedom from limitation is accomplished Solly through the recognition of shared Consciousness which alone has the power to flow easily across the notion of limits and the egoistic perception of separate interests that's very beautifully stated very beautifully expressed so I agree with everything except that I don't think that the this this the state of perfect freedom is not dependent upon everyone else's Liberation but I can but I completely concur with and and I identify with your recognition that it that the as that the the felt desire aspiration of everybody else's Liberation is part of a full Awakening but it doesn't need to be accomplished in order for the Awakening individual to have that kind of experience does that make sense yes I'm wondering also about you know how you or how we enter into can you hear me okay yes I can hear you now um I'm wondering how we enter into that shared Consciousness um is it through say Grant having a shared purpose like one of the things I have with you because we have both receiv received the kind of transmission from our Guru P I feel then that there's a common ground uh I can see that in a sense my life purpose is the extension of his Awakening it's not about my personal awaking but it's about his life and if we take a step back he was extending Ramen as Awakening and if we follow that thought back back we'll come to see that illumination or Awakening is in fact just a single point of life it's nobody's personal possession it's very beautifully expressed I agree with you 100% And I yes I agree 100% with what you said and to repeat it was beautifully expressed and I would just add one piece to it that um something I tend to repeat often is that there see it seems that again when yeah okay now when there there seems to be um inherent in Consciousness whatever that is it seems that Consciousness seems to Delight in its own self-recognition which means that which means that on one hand nothing is really happening because conscious is is already self-aware but at the same time paradoxically when Consciousness seems to awaken to itself in a Rah h g yourself or myself it seems to experience self- delight and I can't say how that happens and I can't say why that happens but I become aware of the fact that that that what you're saying is true that Consciousness is one it's it's it's it's it's it's never never divided never separate it's it's it's it's inherent ently non- it's a singularity could be anything could be anything but an absolute Singularity and inherent The Awakening that that Singularity we are we recognize this felt intimacy or Unity or vulnerability or Oneness that's all very true and at the same time this this mystery called Consciousness seems to want AR Ramina or a g or you and I to recognize it the Consciousness I've noticed I continue to notice is not the passive ground is not merely the passive ground of allbe it's not merely the passive ground of all of our experience it's not merely the Silent Witness not merely the Silent Witness not merely the static witness but miraculously mysteriously seems to want to repeat what I just said that Consciousness is not merely static it's not merely static or passive not merely The Observer not merely the ground of our being but it's also participating in a in in in a way participating in this Dam of the Awakening of Consciousness in a way that's very difficult for the rational mind to come to terms with I can only understand that it is so but I I can't explain it I just recognize is to be the case so so it seems that Consciousness which seems to be all all pervading everywhere in nowhere absolute and unqualified also wants to be seen known and recognized which is delightful which is magnificent which is glorious which is wonderful which is so intriguing you know Graham I was having a convers a few weeks ago I said this last week so forgive
